One of the most basic components to academic success is regular school attendance. Frequent absences and tardies interfere with a student's academic and social development.
The State of Georgia Compulsory Attendance law mandates that all children between the ages of six and 16 attend school. Please encourage your child to attend school daily and arrive on time. Remember to provide a written excuse for all absences.
The following is a list of excused absences:
· Illness
· Serious illness or death in family
· Religious Holiday
· Family Emergency
· Hazardous Conditions
· Mandated by order of governmental agency
The following is a list of unexcused absences:
· Missing the bus
· Family trips
· Staying at home to baby sit, work, or take care of parent
